Introduction

Our standard 10-Gigabit Ethernet driver is called Myri10GE.

Myri10GE consists of the driver and firmware necessary for standard TCP/IP and UDP/IP 10-Gigabit Ethernet applications on Myri-10G network adapters. This software is included with all Myri-10G network adapters.

The Myri10GE driver does not support timestamping.

Availability

Myri10GE is currently available for Linux, Windows, Solaris, Mac OS X, FreeBSD, and VMware ESX. The driver is included in Linux kernel 2.6.18 and later and in many Linux distributions, and is also included in FreeBSD 7.0 and later, and Solaris 11 and OpenSolaris. The VMware ESX software distribution is certified by VMware, and the Windows software distributions are WHQL-certified.

For best performance, we recommend that you install the Myri10GE distribution (driver + firmware) available on this download page. (The version of the Myri10GE driver included in the Linux kernel unfortunately does not include several features which are present in our driver distribution. These features include Large Receive Offload, which is critical for good 10GbE performance with standard frames.)

If you choose to use Myri10GE (driver only) included in the Linux kernel, you will additionally need to download and install the Myri10GE firmware from the Myri10GE Firmware download page.
