From the main Status webpage (e.g., http://172.31.3.42/cgi/web.cgi), clicking on slot 9 lc16q4x will display the following information for this switch line card.
This webpage for the M3-4SW32-16Q switch line card is subdivided into categories: general information, uc, and lc16q4x. Each section/category contains a variety of counters and state bits related to the operation or health of the monitoring line card. As a general rule, a non-zero value for a state bit or counter should be investigated as it may indicate an abnormality in the functioning of the hardware.
Click on the name of the counter/state bit below and the hyperlink will forward to the glossary for its definition and a list of possible causes for the non-zero value.
The general information section of the webpage includes:
serial number -- the serial number for the switch line card.
engineering date code -- internal Myricom manufacturing information.
firmware version -- internal Myricom use.
monitor version -- internal Myricom use.
The uc section provides information pertaining to the health of the microcontroller on the switch line card.
state -- the operational state for the switch line card.
reboot: <n>
This clickable variable hyperlinks to a webpage to reboot the microcontroller on this switch line card, or the microcontrollers on all of the switch line cards.
Checking the reboot box and clicking on Apply on this webpage will set this <n> state bit value to 1 and trigger the rebooting of the selected microcontroller(s).
The lc16q4x section provides information on the individual components of the switch line card.
voltage a indicates the main voltage coming into the line card from the switch chassis. The value of this voltage should be 0 - 13.2V.
voltage b -- can be ignored.
shutdown: <n>
This clickable variable hyperlinks to a webpage to shutdown this switch line card, or all of the switch line cards.
Checking the shutdown box and clicking on Apply on this webpage will set this <n> state bit value to 1 and trigger the shutdown of the selected switch line card(s).
If this <n> state bit has a non-zero value, the the microcontroller on the switch line card is in the SHUTDOWN state. If the value is set to zero, the microcontroller goes to the SELF-TEST state, and if the test is successful, it then goes to the OPERATING state.
quad port 0 through quad port 15 denote the sixteen switch ports on the switch line card. Refer to the text below for a discussion of the diagnostic information available for such a switch port.
xbar32 0 through xbar32 3 denote the four crossbars on the M3-4SW32-16Q switch line card.
voltage 0 through voltage 2 indicate a number of individual voltages measured at various locations on the line cards. The number of voltages measured, and their precise values, vary depending on the type of line card. (The customer will rarely (if ever) need to look at these values.)
temperature 0 and temperature 1 are the inlet and outlet temperatures for the switch line card, respectively. The temperatures are measured in degrees Celsius.
current
This clickable variable hyperlinks to a webpage to determine if a power fluctuation in the electrical current has occurred.
The following state bit and counter are on this webpage.
over current fault
This state bit has the following values:
over current fault: 0 if circuit breaker has not tripped
1 if circuit breaker has tripped
over current count
This counter indicates the number of times that the value of the over current fault state bit has toggled between 0 and 1.
current -- measured in mA
This variable is measured in mA. If the switch line card is in the OPERATING state, the value of this variable indicates the electrical current being drawn by the switch line card. If over current fault has been tripped, the value indicates the electrical current that was being drawn at the time it was tripped.
operating led
This clickable variable hyperlinks to a webpage to modify the behavior of the status LED on the switch line card.
This webpage lists the following state bits.
led state: <n> (<color>)
The values of <n> and <color> are as follows:
led state: 0 indicates LED is off
1 indicates LED is fault (amber)
2 indicates LED is operating (green)
4 indicates LED is blinking green
5 indicates LED is blinking amber
6 indicates LED is blinking amber/green
force led: <n> (<color>)
This clickable variable hyperlinks to a webpage to modify the behavior of the status LED on the switch line card.
The pull-down menu allows us to select a different color for the LED or to turn off the LED. Check the appropriate box to specify the scope of the operation to only affect this specific LED, all LEDs on a switch line card, or all LEDs on all switch line cards, and then click Apply.
If force led is nonzero, the LED is in the state specified by force led, and led state indicates what state the LED would be in if force led is zero.
force led: 0 indicates LED handled by uC
1 forces fault indication (amber)
2 forces operating indication (green)
3 forces LED to be off.
4 forces LED to blink green
5 forces LED to blink amber
6 forces LED to blink amber/green
For demonstration purposes, we shall examine quad port 0 and xbar32 0 and the data available for each.

If we click on control, a webpage will appear and we can modify the behavior of the quad port by turning off the laser to only this quad port, to all quad ports on this switch line card, or to all quad ports on the switch.
There are four of these xbar port listed. Each instance corresponds to the crossbar port connected to each of the four fiber ports associated with this quad port 0. Specifically, the pattern (which corresponds to the ordering in the web output showing the xbar ports of a quad port), i.e.

The M3-4SW32-16Q switch line cards also contain four crossbars, denoted by xbar32 0 through xbar32 3. You can check the status of each crossbar. If we click on xbar32 0, for example, we will see

id
Each xbar32 is identified by a unique switch id.
quadrant disable
Quadrant disable is a mechanism through which certain crosspoints in the crossbar can be turned off (disabled) to prevent deadlocks that might occur if there is a bug in the mapper, or if for some reason there are packets in the Myrinet fabric with bad routes, or if the topology is non-standard. We recommend that the customer consult with the following FAQ entry and help@myri.com before modifying this setting. It is always safe to turn off quadrant disable; however, enabling quadrant disable could chop/separate the network into unmappable pieces.
If we click on quadrant disable, the following webpage will appear and we can modify the behavior of the xbar32 by turning off quadrant disable to only this xbar32, to all xbar32 on this switch line card, or to all xbar32 on the switch.
xbar32 port 0 through xbar32 port 31
These variables indicate each of the 32 ports on the xbar32 chip.
