M2M-L, M2M-Y, M2M-X, M2M-F Myrinet-SAN-Cable Accessories |

The Myrinet-SAN-cable accessories, pictured in iconic form above, have
these uses:
M2M-L (a.k.a. M2M-LOOPBACK) is is a diagnostic device to allow customers
to run Myricom's standard test programs. When plugged into a SAN-cable port
of a component, the M2M-L "loops back" the outgoing channel of
each link to the incoming channel.
M2M-Y, referred to as a "splitter," splits the A and B
links on a component's SAN connector onto the A links of separate cables.
M2M-X, called an A-B link, is typically used to create a link between
the A and B switches at one or more of the SAN connectors of the M2M-DUAL-SW8 switch. (The same result
could be achieved but less economically with an M2M-Y splitter and a SAN
cable.)
M2M-F is typically used on SAN switches to exchange the A and B links,
useful in cable-efficient wiring of certain topologies.
(A pair of links connected by {SAN connector <-> M2M-F <-> SAN
cable <-> SAN connector} could equivalently but less economically
be connected as {SAN connector <-> M2M-Y <-> 2 SAN cables <->
M2M-Y <-> SAN connector}.)
Other types of Myrinet-SAN-cable accessories can be made
to order for customer requirements.
