Myricom FastStack™ VideoPump™ dramatically increases video streaming capacity with lower expenses and better Quality of Experience.
IPTV, Video-on-Demand, Over-The-Top - the demand for video streaming continues to grow and service providers are looking for ways to meet it while limiting major capital infrastructure investments. FastStack™ VideoPump™ software, running on Myri-10G Ethernet network adapters, allows providers to serve more video streams per server than competing solutions, lowering the capital investment. Low-CPU overhead operation also reduces operating expenses by consuming less power.
FastStack™ VideoPump™ was designed to support live streaming video with high Quality of Experience. Hardware-based traffic shaping technology provides more efficient bandwidth usage, with predictable quality of service and low-jitter that improves end-user experience.
Network service providers are heavily investing in 10-Gigabit Ethernet, but legacy network software stacks limit the effective bandwidth. FastStack™ VideoPump™ bypasses this bottleneck and enables line-rate streaming with extremely low CPU overhead. FastStack™ VideoPump™ can drive multiple network adapters per server, up to 80 Gb/s on a single machine. This solution can support more than 25,000 streams at 3Mb/s, by far the most scalable in the industry.
Myricom is an important component in a number of leading digital video and IPTV ecosystems. Our low-overhead VideoPump™ technology is easy to integrate and plays a key role in the solutions of a number of major end-to-end video technology providers.
